This organic mattress offers a feel between medium and firm. On a solid plank base, it provides firm support; on a flexible slatted base, it feels closer to medium-firm. For a true medium feel, we recommend our DeLuxe B mattress.

Important information

All our organic mattresses are GOLS and GOTS certified.

Organic mattresses need to be used on an appropriate, strong, supportive slat base which is able to hold the mattress’ and its users’ weight without becoming hollow. Gaps should be around 2 inches wide. Gaps are needed to help the mattress ‘breath’. This applies to all types of organic mattresses.

All our mattresses comply with BS7177 and BS5852, low hazard domestic use and medium hazard hotel use.

Care instructions for our mattresses

Our mattresses are two sided and you can use both sides. The side with the big product sticker attached to the cover is normally the top.

Take extreme care whilst moving the mattress as the latex can tear if grabbed or pulled on corners or edges.

Rotate the mattress from top to bottom and flip it over once every 3 months in the first 2 years. Then once a year, which will ensure even wear and tear and will prolong its lifespan.

You can air the mattress every time you change your bed linen to keep it fresh and dry.

Never use detergents or chemical cleaners on your mattress. This can adversely affect not only the fabrics but also the fillings inside.

The mattress must be kept dry. If there is a risk of accidents with fluids, please use a waterproof mattress protector.

If you spill something on your mattress and it gets wet, wipe the liquid with a cloth, remove the cover and air the mattress core till it is dry. 

Our covers are zip-off removable and washable by hand wash at 20 maximum at 30 degrees. Do not wash the cover at a higher temperature as it may shrink. Do not tumble dry and do not dry clean it.

The mattress can not be used on boarded, closed or not adequately ventilated bed bases or on the floor as the lack of ventilation may lead to mould and mildew build up and invalidates your guarantee. We recommend slatted bases. The gaps between the slats should be between 2 and 4 inches wide.

The mattress is designed for sleeping on and constant sitting on the edge can cause damage and place undue stress on this area of the mattress.

I spent many long hours trying to find a mattress which would be comfortable, good for my ageing bones and completely chemical free. I had put off getting a new mattress as the last time I bought one around 12 years ago (too long I know) I could not use it for at least a year as it had “that smell”. It was not cheap but had been treated with fire retardant chemicals which affected me enormously including puffy eyes and nausea. So, recently, I knew I had to Bite the bullet and get a new one as it was past its “sell by date”; my body was aching more when I got out of bed than when I got in but I put it off as I had got “used” to the toxic mattress. And then I found Demko - and an added bonus - I found Tamas who answered every query fully. So, I ordered the Delux C. Tamas waited patiently on the telephone when I went to see what sort of slats were on my bed and confirmed that my choice of Demko mattress would be suitable for my needs. The delivery men were completely on schedule and cheerfully carried the (rather heavy) mattress upstairs to my bedroom. That night I slept on my new mattress - there was no smell at all and although my husband found the mattress firmer than expected we both slept very well. No puffy eyes, a clear head and no aching bones. However, after three weeks we thought we would try the option which Tamas suggested to us of swapping the layers around and making the mattress 30% softer. Well, my husband who is notoriously hard to please absolutely loved the softer option and although I was more than happy with the firmer option I too love the less firm option and now find myself looking at the clock thinking only an hour or so before I can get in my bed and say “this is the best part of the day”. The mattress is soft, cool and foamy to the touch, but stops giving way at a certain point and provides a solid foundation of support. Definitely the most comfortable mattress so far. Outstanding product and customer service from Demko! We had been on the market for a very long time as we wanted to buy an organic mattress which is really organic and not only in its name. Most of the companies call their mattresses natural or organic even if they contain adhesive, chemicals or fire retardants. No more back pain since sleeping on Demko C mattress. I’ve long been suffering from back and neck pain. I have tried all sort of pillows and also changed our spring mattress to a Tempur memory mattress but nothing really helped whatsoever...few months ago one of my colleague recommended the Demko mattresses.
