Organic mattresses are an excellent way to reduce exposure to the toxins so prevalent in consumer products today. They do not require harmful chemicals or petroleum products to create.
Variable firmness / More firmness options within the same mattress
We do not glue the layers of our organic mattresses to avoid the use of adhesive. Therefore, the position of the organic coir layer within the mattress can easily be changed by yourself. Having the coir layer/s at the bottom will make the mattress 40% softer. Whereas putting the coir layer/s on the top will make the mattress 30% firmer.
Our organic mattresses only contain organic latex, organic coir fibre, cotton and tencel – all renewable, biodegradable resources. Plus, a thin layer of natural graphite which acts as a natural fire barrier to avoid the use of toxic fire retardants. These organic materials are grown, processed, and manufactured without chemicals so you can rest peacefully. Our organic mattresses do not contain any metal springs, avoiding their harmful medical effects such as electromagnetic smog. Apart from this, organic latex is the most organic and durable mattress material, outlasting all other mattress types by several years. This advantage is twofold, it reduces consumers’ costs over time as well as keeping waste out of landfills. Plus, an organic latex mattress also proves healthiest, with natural resistance to dust mites, moulds, and bacteria. Therefore, it is an excellent choice for those who suffer from allergies or asthma. As there are thousands of embedded air cells in the organic latex, the mattresses are breathable. As a result, they have perfect temperature control and moisture management qualities.
100% vegan mattresses
Our organic mattresses are 100% vegan as they do not contain any wool, animal products nor animal by-products and do not require animal testing.
Ms Suszi Saunders – Winner of PETA’s vegan home award
“A wonderful night’s sleep at last! I am obsessed with my new Demko mattress. After years of waking up every morning with back pain, I reached out to Demko to advise me on which mattress would suit me best. I love that all their mattresses are organic and vegan friendly, but I never expected such life changing results too. It’s deliciously comfortable and yet reassuringly supportive. With my previous mattress I always felt I was lying in the wrong position, but now I get a great night sleep whether I’m lying on my side or back, and I no longer need a stack of pillows to support my spine. I can’t put a price on that. Highly recommended!”
Eco-Friendly organic latex mattresses
Hevea Brasiliensis, the tree produces natural latex, is among the most ecological trees in the world. A single Hevea tree absorbs about 1.8 tons of CO2 in its life time, similar to a rainforest tree. Globally, all organic latex plantations together offset 90 million tons of CO2 per year. A queen size mattress requires 12 acres of rubber plantations. This number of trees absorbs a huge 143 tonnes of CO2 from the air every year and provide employment for 8 rubber tappers. Derived from the rubber tree, organic latex is the most naturally durable cushioning material available. The finished product is naturally biodegradable because the main ingredient in the manufacture of an organic latex mattress is simply natural rubber.

Chiropractors and back doctors recommend organic latex mattresses due to their superior orthopaedic support. They dynamically conform to the contour of your spine to give superior back support and outstanding pressure relief. Relieving pressure reduces the tossing and turning that interrupts sleep. Organic latex offers a “springier” feel compared to memory foam. As a result, it can make moving around in bed easier and can eliminate 85% of the motion transfer from a restless partner.
Differences between organic latex (100% natural latex) and only natural or synthetic latex
Please note that there is a huge difference between organic and natural latex. Natural latex (without stating 100%) is not organic as it only contains up to 30% organic latex which is blended with 70% synthetic latex. However, by the law they can call it natural. Similarly to meat containing only couple of percentage of beef can be called beef. Natural latex is a cheaper mixture containing clay, glues and other materials causing the mattress to become toxic. Apart from this, it also breaks down faster and becomes uncomfortable, giving truly organic latex a bad reputation. It is a little known fact that about 80% of latex mattresses is a blend of synthetic latex and organic latex. Unlike our organic latex (100% natural latex), synthetic latex is made from leftovers from the petroleum industry. Therefore, they do not have the antibacterial, anti-fungal and hypoallergenic qualities that our organic latex provides.
Our mattresses are made from 100% organic latex without using any synthetic latex.
The other ingredient of our organic mattresses is the organic coconut (coir) fibre.
We always use organic coir in our mattresses for proper spine support. Without coir, the only organic latex mattress could not provide sufficient body support. Organic coir is a product of the coconut tree, it is also known as coconut fibre. The substance is extracted from the hairy husk of coconuts. Therefore, the coir fibre is very tough, elastic and strong so it hardly deteriorates at all over time. Similarly to the organic latex, the coir fibre also has excellent temperature and moisture management qualities. It does not retain moisture so there is perfect air-flow in the mattress. As a result, the foam also remains dry, fluffy and comes back to original shape after being compressed. Above all, it provides perfectly cool and healthy sleep.
Why you should avoid sleeping on memory foams or spring mattresses
According to Dr Morris Nejat (New York Allergy and Sinus Centers) “The chemicals used to make certain memory foam mattresses are proven to be carcinogenic. Latex is superior, it’s what we recommend to our patients.”
R. Douglas Fields PhD stated “As we sleep on our coil-spring mattresses, we are in effect sleeping on an antenna that amplifies the intensity of the broadcast FM/TV radiation. Sleeping on these antennas, exposes our bodies to the amplified electromagnetic radiation for a third of our life spans.
